Extracting topicalsTaking out topicals from its container to utilize during care
Internal material manipulationDeforming an item's shape, like fluffing gauze, for better care use
Manipulating clothesManipulation of articles of clothing such as briefs, socks, hospital gowns, etc.
Moving equipmentAdjusting machinery used for wound care, like the pump for an inflatable bed, pushing a wheelchair, adjusting a side table, etc.
Open/closing materialsOpening or closing materials such as bottles, straps, packages, etc.
Raising/lowering bedAdjusting the bed height, usually by lifting, pressing down, or using a remote
Relocating materialsMoving materials from one location to another
Severing materialsCutting materials with scissors (or other tool) or ripping materials with hands
Wetting materialsWetting material with liquid (saline, water, etc.)
WritingUsing a writing utensil (sharpie, pen) to date, initial, or take notes about patients or mark the wound dressing
Moving bedding around patientManipulating sheets, blankets, or pillows on or around patient
Moving patientRelocating or adjusting a patient or their body part to a new location or position
Application of topicalsSpreading topicals such as creams, ointments, etc. on the patient's wound or body, more generally
AssessingEvaluating and observing the wound through sight, touch, and smell
Covering and securing dressingProtecting the wound by covering it with a dressing
DryingDrying with fabric or fanning the wound or skin
MeasuringMeasuring the wound using a ruler or measuring tape
Manipulating ostomy bagPressing around or on the ostomy bag to empty or adjust it for the patient
Open/Closing ostomy bagPulling or twisting ostomy bag open or closed
Packing woundPutting material inside the wound
Undressing woundRemoving dressing from a wound
Unpacking woundTaking old packing material out of the wound
Wetting woundIrrigating the wound with cleaner or water
WipingCleaning the wound and surrounding area with a wet material
